The story behind Commuc Technologies, the road that led here, and why we're still building.
There was a time when I believed success meant getting a good job. Study hard. Earn a degree. Find a respectable position. Build a stable life. It seemed like a straightforward plan. And for a long time, I believed that was the path I was supposed to follow. After graduating, I found that reality looked different from what I had imagined, leading me through different jobs, from logistics freight brokerage and online English teaching to sales and marketing, computer training, web development, and eventually freelancing. My journey didn't follow the plan I had once imagined. But somewhere along the way, another thought started growing.
What if I stopped waiting for the right opportunity and tried to build one myself?
Not because I had everything figured out. Not because I knew success was guaranteed. But because I wanted to create something of my own, something I could grow through my own decisions, effort, and willingness to keep learning.
Eventually, I made the decision to stop working elsewhere and focus on building Commuc Technologies. I bought an office chair, a table, and a monitor, and started working from my room. That was the beginning.
The Part People Don't Always See
I didn't begin Commuc Technologies with investors behind me or a large office full of people. I began with a vision, limited resources, and the responsibility of figuring things out as I went.
Building a company is exciting when you think about what it could become. The harder part is managing the reality of what it takes to get there. Every business needs resources to operate and grow. You need money to keep things running, invest in better tools, reach customers, and give your plans a real chance of succeeding.
Commuc Technologies began without investors. Sometimes, money needed to go toward running the business when there were other things that needed that same money. It's almost funny when you put it that way. You need money to grow, but you need to grow to create more opportunities to earn it. Then there's the competition. The technology industry is full of established companies with years of experience, larger teams, and bigger budgets. We were trying to establish ourselves in a market where many businesses already had plenty of options.
We knew we had a long way to go. But we also believed there was room for a different approach. We didn't want Commuc Technologies to be just another IT company building products without first understanding the people who would use them. We wanted to develop custom digital solutions around real business needs, because no two businesses operate in exactly the same way.
A business shouldn't have to change the way it works simply because its software cannot accommodate it. That belief became part of the foundation of Commuc Technologies.
The Business That Took a Chance on Us
Having a vision is one thing. Earning the trust of someone willing to give you a chance is another. Our first official project at Commuc Technologies was a website for a travel agency called TOabroad. We were promoting our own website through Meta as part of our marketing efforts, trying to get our work in front of people who might need our services. TOabroad came across us and trusted us with their website after taking a look at what we had built. We were still at the beginning, trying to establish ourselves and show potential customers what we could do. And a business we hadn't worked with before decided to give us an opportunity. For a young company, that opportunity meant something. We built TOabroad's website. Over time, our relationship grew to include logo design, website maintenance, and hosting. What started as a single website project became an ongoing working relationship. Then, in September 2026, TOabroad opened a physical office and approached us for something more: a management system for their business. We developed and delivered that system, and today, TOabroad uses it to manage its operations. We also host the web application for them.
Looking back, that progression means a great deal to us. We went from building a website for a customer who had only recently discovered our work to developing a system that supports their business as it grows.
Someone trusted us with their first project. They came back with more work. And eventually, they trusted us with something more central to how their business operates.
We will never forget that our first customer was not just the first name on a project list. TOabroad became part of the story of how Commuc Technologies began, and we're grateful for the trust they placed in us.
What We're Building Toward
Our experience so far has strengthened our belief in what we want Commuc Technologies to become. A business doesn't necessarily need more software. It needs its problems solved. It needs tools that make its work easier, fit its operations, and help its people do what they need to do without creating unnecessary complications. That is why we specialize in developing custom digital products, creating solutions around the needs of the businesses they serve rather than assuming every business should work the same way. This belief also shapes the product we're building, Commuc-One, scheduled to launch in November 2026. It's our next step toward bringing practical, business-focused operations software to businesses that need systems designed to support the way they work. We know we still have a long way to go. Commuc Technologies hasn't reached the level I envision for it yet. There are products I want us to develop, challenges we still have to overcome, and a company I want us to become. But I no longer see that as a reason to hide our beginning. Every company that exists today had a point when it was smaller than the vision behind it. This is ours.
We're Still at the Beginning
Sometimes I think back to that office chair, table, and monitor. At the time, they were simply what I needed to start working on something of my own. Today, they remind me of the distance between having an idea and deciding to give it a real chance. I couldn't have known exactly how the journey would unfold. I still don't know everything that lies ahead. What I do know is that I wanted to build something that could grow beyond me, something that could solve real problems for businesses and create value through the work we do. We don't expect people to trust Commuc Technologies simply because we tell them to. We want to earn that trust through the quality of our work, the products we build, and the way we treat the people who choose to work with us. Because behind every business is someone with their own vision, challenges, responsibilities, and hopes for what they can build. Every project represents a decision to place some of that responsibility in someone else's hands.
We understand what it means to start with a vision and work toward something that doesn't exist yet. It's a feeling I know personally. And perhaps that is one reason this work matters so much to me. Commuc Technologies started because I wanted to build something of my own. But what we're working toward now is bigger than the act of starting a company. It's about building technology that helps other businesses move forward, and building a company that deserves the opportunities it receives.
We're still learning. We're still building. And there is still so much we want to do. But we began. To everyone who has trusted us with an opportunity, especially those who believed in us when we were just getting started, thank you for being part of the story.
The office chair, the table, and the monitor were only the beginning. What matters now is what we build with them.
This is the story of Commuc Technologies so far. We're looking forward to writing the next chapter through the work we do and the trust we continue to earn.
